Nooks seeks an experienced and exceptional recruiter responsible for curating and maturing its holistic hiring practice. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter dedicated to creating consistent and repeatable processes while surging on high-priority hires. This role is an opportunity to have an outsized impact inside a high-growth startup, with direct leadership access and support. This role will report to the Director of HR and regularly engage with the CEO and all company leadership. A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in recruiting is preferred, and experience at other DefTech companies and startups is highly valued.

Key responsibilities:

  • Candidate sourcing: Proactively identify and attract high-quality candidates through diverse methods, such as job boards, social media, networking, referrals, and direct outreach to passive candidates.
  • Job posting and description development: Craft compelling job descriptions that accurately reflect role requirements and attract relevant talent.
  • Resume screening and initial interviews: We review resumes and conduct phone or video screenings to assess candidates' qualifications and fit for the role.
  • Candidate evaluation and presentation: Conduct in-depth interviews, administer assessments, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers with detailed evaluations.
  • Hiring manager collaboration: Partner with hiring managers to understand specific role needs, set hiring expectations and provide feedback throughout recruitment. Own the hiring process to enable rapid decisions and a solid candidate experience.
  • Offer negotiation and closing: Negotiate compensation packages and extend job offers to selected candidates.
  • Onboarding support: Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Recruitment metrics tracking: Monitor key recruitment metrics, such as time to fill, source of hire, and candidate quality, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Market intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging talent pools to inform recruitment strategies.
  • Employer branding: Contribute to promoting the company's employer brand to attract top talent.

Required skills:

  • Strong communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively interact with candidates, hiring managers, and stakeholders.
  • Sourcing expertise: Proficiency in using various recruiting channels, including job boards, professional networks, and applicant tracking systems.
  • Interviewing skills: Ability to conduct structured and behavioral interviews to assess candidate potential accurately.
  • Relationship building: Building strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and internal teams.
  • Analytical skills: Analyze recruitment data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Market knowledge: Understanding the industry, relevant job markets, and competitive compensation packages.

Experience requirements:

  • Proven track record of successful performance in a similar role, with experience in the defense technology industry and/or startup community preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of requisitions and meet aggressive hiring goals.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools
